Sydney hates thunder
It started yesterday, the rains and the inevitable thunder. Dani and I generally keep an eye on the weather. Whenever a thunderstorm is immanent we have no choice but to sedate our Australian Shepherd mix, Sydney, I don't know what it is about thunder but it sends Syd into absolute terror. The shaking, the projectile shedding, poor kid. We keep a marinade injector for use in administering her children's Benedryl and this seems to work well. I just hope that it's not a stormy season this year. It seems sad to keep her drugged up day after day. She's usually such a happy kid.

Perhaps it is an Australian Shepherd thing...
We were in a garden center this morning buying some plants when we heard a peal of thunder. The woman helping us looked up and said, "My dog is probably freaking out about now." Seems she has an Australian shepherd that is terrified of thunder and other loud noises.
Cute dog, by the way!

I think most dogs are like that. They can hear the thunder before we do. Used to have a retriever that would hide under the clothes in my closet. Never had to sedate her though, but I guess being stoned would be better than being in constant terror.
Yea, she doesn't seem too terrified now. She's kinda doing this humming thing now.

OT - This is the first time I've posted from home (no sound at work), the piano music sets me free.
Cool, I was hoping folks would take advantage of the channel changer up there. I prefer ch. 1-2 during the day and 3 in the evening.
